Theologian John Switzer has been teaching at Spring Hill College since 2003. Prior to that, before earning his PhD at Boston College, he was a religious studies instructor at Our Lady Academy in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. He completed seminary in Louisiana and Rome on behalf of the Catholic Diocese of Biloxi. He is now a priest of the Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi and Rector of St. Pierre's Episcopal Church, an active and growing parish located in Gautier.
In addition to his duties teaching theology at SHC, John serves as the Ecumenical and Interreligious Officer of his diocese and Chair of the Board of Examining Chaplains. He is an Oblate of the Benedictine Community of St. Joseph.
