Annette B. Heim has been the Director of the Instructional Resources Center since 1999. The purpose of the IRC is to support the education curriculum with a unique collection of K-12 textbooks, note-worthy children’s and young adult literature, professional literature, and media and technology. Mrs. Heim also assists students in their research and in the use of instructional and professional materials. Previously, she was Teaching Materials Center Librarian at Illinois State University. She has served as Children’s Librarian for the Normal Illinois Public Library and as Reference and Youth Services Librarian for the Mobile Public Library. She has an M.S. in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an M.M. in Music Education from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Her research interests and publications are in the disability experience in children’s and young adult literature.
