History students participate in a number of academic and social events throughout the year, including our annual Portier Lecture each fall and in the spring, senior seminar, Phi Alpha Theta induction and dinner celebration, honors convocation, and senior dinner for our graduating majors. The history club also organizes periodic trips to local historic sites. In 2016, they visited the National WWII Museum in New Orleans. Students have also visited the Fort Blakely Historic Reenactment.
