Altapointe Health Systems Office of Public Relations.

The intern will manage AltaPointe’s community relations calendar and will research, coordinate and participate in community events on behalf of the company. Crown Products

A Mobile-based company that manufactures and imports promotional products. Internship in the Marketing Department where the company creates all of the ads, email blasts, catalogs, flyers, etc., as well as product development. As an intern at Crown, a graphic design student would get the opportunity to help create many ads, email blasts, and since this is our catalog season a very large catalog. The intern will help with photography, cleaning up images, clipping paths, creating some artwork, and maybe even some ads. The intern should have a good set of technical skills, including a decent knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Photography skills are a plus, but not a requirement. Dauphin Island Sea Lab [Summer Community Jobs Program Internships]

PAID: $2,500/eight-week internship program, June-July each summer. Applications due in spring (usually April) - two available: Public Relations Intern and Aquarist Intern. A nonprofit corporation located in the historic district of Mobile, Ala. It was founded in 1958 in Mobile and each June, 50 state winners come to Mobile to participate in the national finals. AJM’s mission is to emphasize education by providing scholarship opportunities to outstanding, college-bound high school girls and to encourage personal development in all young people. Historic Mobile Preservation Society, founded in 1935, is Alabama’s oldest grass root preservation organization. Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press

ANNUALLY ACCEPTS APPLICATIONS IN OCTOBER FOR THE FOLLOWING SUMMER’S INTERNSHIPS/SCHOLARSHIPS: Internships are offered in writing (magazines, newspapers and online), broadcast, editing and media relations. Full-time female students currently enrolled in college are eligible to apply for the internships. Applicants do not need to be members of AWSM to apply. In 2010, AWSM will be expanding its program to offer scholarships to more than a dozen deserving students. The top applicant in public relations, broadcast, writing and copy editing will each be awarded a $1,000 scholarship in addition to a paid trip to the AWSM Convention, which includes hotel stay, $300 reimbursement for travel and free convention registration. All other students chosen for an AWSM internship will receive a $500 scholarship.
