Class Projects

These are from various classes, under the direction of Dr. Sharee Broussard, APR, including Strategic Writing (CMM/MKT/WRI 365):

  • USS Alabama/Battleship Memorial Park
    Multiple writing projects including research-based recommendations regarding social media best practices, prepared social media content in a planning calendar, advertising brief and prepared materials, media relations outreach materials - target audience: Millennials; target activity: USS Alabama's 75th Anniversary Celebration. 
  • Mobile Baykeeper
    Multiple writing projects that will help further the mission of thie organization. 1) Recommendations for using Snapchat and Periscope, 2) Advertising planner and materials to promote the Grandman Triathalon, 3) PR materials including research for an online newsroom, media relations materials and social media content ro promote Swim Guide app [check water quality before swimming or fishing]
  • Lifelines Counseling Services
    Students developed a creative brief and prepared one promotional piece for each of three service lines: Consumer Credit Counseling Service, Family Counseling Service and the Helpline/United Way 211. Next they created one month of content for two social media platforms and wrote a news release and pitch for the agency to use during that month as well as researched online stories for an online newsroom.
  • Dumas Wesley Community Center
    Students were tasked with business writing, advertising writing and public relations writing projects supporting the agency and its services. 
  • Mobile County District Attorney’s BULLYBLOCKER program
    Students were tasked with writing projects designed to help drive traffic and increase text reporting of bullying, including a business report recommending social media strategies and tactics with one month of prepared content for each recommendation, a media kit promoting a BULLYBLOCKER event and and a campaign planner + copy and mock ups

    Business Report-Web 2.0 to further mission; Media Kit for Cheap Chic Boutique fundraisers; Awareness Campaign Planner + Mock-ups
  • League of Women Voters-Mobile Chapter
    Awareness campaign planner + mock-ups, Task-related Media Kit, Slogan/Promotional Product ideas, Business Report
